One of the numerous strategies to safeguard the environment and successfully slow down climate change is by planting trees. The fight against global warming is supposed to depend on every single tree. We may give our environment the tender loving care it deserves by engaging in environmental activities that also improve our standard of living, like planting trees. This will protect and maintain wildlife, combat climate change, and demonstrate "Makakalikasan," one of the PNP's Core values.[1]

As part of our Cadet Attachment Program, I recently participated in a tree-planting activity, and it was a very rewarding experience. Before this event, I didn't fully understand the importance of tree planting, but after participating in it, I realized that it has significant benefits for the environment, communities, and individuals. As we dug holes and planted saplings, I learned that trees are an essential part of the ecosystem, and planting them helps to restore and maintain ecological balance. Trees absorb carbon dioxide and other pollutants, which helps to mitigate climate change and air pollution. It was inspiring to see the impact that a group of people, such as our team, could make in just a few hours by planting a few dozen trees.

Tree planting is an important activity for several reasons. Mainly for Environmental Conservation, Planting trees is an important way to help protect the environment and to mitigate the effects of climate change. The roots of trees hold the soil in place as it fights erosion that causes a landslide. It also absorbs and stores rainwater that helps reduce runoff and sediment deposits after the storms. It also helps recharge the groundwater supply, prevents the transport of chemicals into streams as well as prevents flooding.[2] By planting trees, the Cadets are helping to preserve the planet for future generations and to ensure a healthy and sustainable environment for all.

Beyond environmental benefits, tree planting also has significant social benefits. Tree planting events bring people together and create a sense of community. As PNPA Cadets, we work closely with our fellow Cadets, but this event provided an opportunity to interact with residents and organizations, building relationships and networks that can be beneficial in the future through this kind of activity, we can gain the public trust of the community.

To Conclude, tree planting is an important activity for cadets of the PNPA because it helps them to develop a sense of civic responsibility, to work as part of a team, to maintain and improve their physical fitness, and develop their leadership skills. The activity provides an opportunity for the Cadets to make a positive impact on their communities and to help protect the environment for future generations.
