In support of the Anti-Hazing Law, Director PNPA, PMGEN ERIC ESCOSIO NOBLE advocated the War Against Hazing, Guard Against Maltreatment (WAHGAM). He initiated WAHGAM, which aligns with the Chief PNP's MKK=K or the Malaskit, Kaayusan, Kapayapaan, and Kaunlaran Program, which promotes compassion, orderliness, peace, and progress for the betterment of the Filipino people. This shared initiative shows that great minds think alike, and they share the same goals and aspirations for a better future.
His leadership in implementing measures to prevent hazing and holding accountable those who engage in it is a testament to his dedication to producing competent and ethical police officers. The PNPA's efforts to not engage in hazing would not be possible without the support of leaders like him. his advocacy for alternative methods of building camaraderie and team spirit that does not involve hazing is particularly noteworthy. It speaks to his commitment to the welfare of the cadets and his advocacy for a safer and more just society.
He reminds the Cadet Corps multiple times to avoid using violence to impose discipline and to control their anger. He emphasizes that they are preparing to become future law enforcement officers who will face challenges dealing with people from different backgrounds and situations. We must always keep in mind that there is always a better approach to establishing discipline in a person who also seeks to maintain peace. Therefore, they must learn to exercise patience and practice good values.
As the Cadet-in-Charge of the INC cadets and Charlie Company Medical officer, I fully support the PNPA's anti-hazing campaign. Building camaraderie with my fellow cadets does not require harm, it requires respect through leadership and being a good example. Hazing is a barbaric and senseless practice that serves no purpose other than to inflict harm and suffering on its victims. It is not a test of loyalty or courage but an act of violence and aggression that violates human rights and dignity. Hazing has no place in any institution, especially in PNPA, an institution that is responsible for upholding the law and protecting the public.
With the guidance and supervision of our Director, PMGEN ERIC ESCOSIO NOBLE, I commend the PNPA for taking a strong stance against hazing and implementing measures to support the Anti-Hazing Law. The Academy has taken steps to educate its cadets about the negative effects of hazing and to promote alternative methods of building camaraderie and team spirit. It has also established a zero-tolerance policy towards hazing and has imposed severe penalties on those who violate it. These measures are necessary to ensure that the PNPA remains true to its commitment to producing competent and ethical police officers. In my four-year stay inside the Academy, I am proud to say that PNPA is a hazing-free zone.
